What does it mean to cheat on yourself? What I mean is that when you hold yourself small and don’t open up to all you can do and accomplish, you are cheating on yourself. You’re not allowing yourself the life you fantasize about in your private moments.
Sometimes people can’t make up their minds and they rely on friends and family to tell them what to do. Think about it—---trust yourself to understand and know what’s best for you.
What’s best for you can be to quit something in your life that doesn’t serve your best self. Maybe it’s a dead end job or a relationship that’s going nowhere fast. Whatever it is, if it’s holding you back, make a plan to break free. You never want to waste your life on what could have been.
Meditation helps to clarify where to go next; to boil down the important nuggets. A favorite quote is from Marianne Williamson-
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
That says it all. Give yourself the permission and freedom to live your best life.
