What does it mean to love yourself? It doesn’t mean being full of
yourself or thinking you’re better than anyone else.
Self-love means respecting yourself. Your self-talk needs to be positive and loving. Your physical and emotional well-being need to be a priority. Focus on trusting yourself and being true to yourself. Make sure that other people treat you with respect. One way to do that is to set boundaries.
Self-care goes hand-in-hand with self-love. Self-care involves listening to our bodies and making changes when they need to be made. Moving and stretching are great ways to take care of your body. Eat healthy, but also indulge in occasional treats.
According to Brain & Behavior, “Self-love means accepting yourself as you are in this very moment for everything that you are. It means accepting your emotions for what they are and putting your physical, emotional and mental well-being first.”
