Are You Being Who You’re Supposed To Be or Who You Are

Clearly there’s a connection with having open ideas about who you are and preconceived notions about who you’re supposed to be. These unyielding assumptions can affect your personal success in life.

In order to have the flexibility to challenge these limiting beliefs, you need to be aware of when they occur.

If, for example, you hold yourself back from a job you might be qualified for. You might be holding on to assumptions that you’re not qualified instead of trying for the opportunity and very possibly getting ahead in your career.

Likewise, if your level of intelligence hasn’t always been supported, (for example in school), that assumption can hold you back from working to succeed in your career.

In order to unlock your potential and become who you are capable of being, it’s important to recognize and challenge who you’ve been told you’re supposed to be. When you open yourself up to who you can be, you make yourself available to new opportunities, experiences, and relationships.

By challenging the narrow notion of who you’re supposed to be, you can:

  • Cultivate a more open worldview

  • Improve your social and personal connections

  • Enhance your skills at decision-making

  • Expand your career possibilities

  • Gain better self-esteem

When you get stuck in others ideas of who you’re supposed to be, (or your own), it becomes difficult to move forward.

But when you strive to expand your outlook on who you want to become, you can truly become who you are.
